The Account Hierarchy Editor is a powerful tool that allows you to create, maintain, simulate, view, and print your Oracle General Ledger account hierarchies. With its drag and drop graphical user interface, the Account Hierarchy Editor is intuitive, flexible, and easy to learn. The user interface is extremely fast and features scrolling windows and split screens to maximize your efficiency.
Business Needs
With Oracle General Ledger you can:
• Create and modify hierarchies on any segment of your account structure using a simple drag and drop user interface
• View and print hierarchy diagrams to gain an immediate understanding of your organization structure.
• Quickly create additional hierarchies by copying an existing hierarchy, than making modifications
• Model and simulate alternative hierarchies before committing to hierarchy modifications
Major Features
Hierarchy Creation
You can easily create new hierarchies with the Account Hierarchy Editor. You simply drag and drop existing values from the list of segment values, or add new values. The cursor changes shape to indicate where you can or cannot drop a value. When you add a new parent or child value to a hierarchy, a window automatically opens for you to enter attributes such as a description, effective dates, and posting and budgeting qualifiers.
Multiple Visual Layouts
The Account Hierarchy Editor allows you to view any hierarchy based on any chart of accounts segment. In addition, you can view your hierarchies in three formats: columnar, vertical, or horizontal. You can easily create multiple windows and manage various hierarchies at the same time. Each window can be fully customized.
Modeling and Simulation
You can quickly model and simulate alternative hierarchies. For example, you can automatically duplicate an existing hierarchy, make changes and adjustments independently of the original, then print and distribute your reorganized hierarchy structure.
Scenario-Based Hierarchies
Oracle General Ledger’s scenario-based hierarchies empower financial executives by providing the freedom to perform reporting and analysis against unlimited hierarchy structures, regardless of when a particular structure was in use. Versatile scenario–based hierarchies allow ‘what–if’ analysis and reporting, expanding management’s ability to make informed decisions about the best transaction flow for each unique enterprise. By combining scenario–based hierarchies with the Account Hierarchy Editor, Oracle provides an open forum in which the management team can easily diversify account structures and build hierarchies that produce top results upon demand. |
