BASIC FUNCTION
Company is seeking an experienced Oracle Applications Specialist with extensive experience implementing and/or using Oracle Applications Distribution Modules (Order Management, Account Recievables, Inventory, and Purchasing). The Oracle Applications Specialist role is an integral component of the Company Program Management Office (PMO). In this role you will help implement Oracle Application for Company’s small to mid-size divisions primarily in Asia Pacific. These implementations may be part of the Oracle In A Box initiative (a pre-configured version of Oracle) or as part of a standard Company group implementation. Specific areas of focus include leading gap analysis and design, participating in business process simulation, conducting application testing, leading training classes, issue tracking and escalation. In this role you will also work closely with the PMO’s Business Solution Managers to act as an Asian liasian to gather local business requirements and share best practices and standards with Company divisons. Overall objective of the PMO and specifically the Oracle Applications Specialist role is to ensure that projects are successful in achieving their business objectives and are delivered on time, on budget and with minimal business disruption.
Successful candidates will have implemented or used Oracle Applications for one or more organizations. Experience implementing in Asia Pacific countries is a plus. Successful candidates will also have excellent communications skills, and will have experience in working in a manufacturing environment.
Primary location for this job will be China, however this role will require frequent travel to each division’s location as part of each project’s implementation.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strong functional knowledge/support of the Distribution applications for Oracle 11i implementation projects
- Conduct business process and fit/gap analysis.
- Plan, lead and actively participate in design, configuration and testing of Oracle Application (focus on Distribution modules)
- Act as a team lead and manage implementation activity for Distribution modules
- Setup the system to meet the desired business process and requirements based on knowledge about the Oracle Distribution applications functionality, tools, templates and Oracle Application Implementation methodologies
- Troubleshoot and issue resolution with Oracle Applications Distribution modules, configuration
- Complete functional design and design review of Oracle Applications data conversions, interfaces, custom reporting, and custom applications
- Conduct training for end users of the system
- Identify critical issues and escalate appropriately
- Participate in structured walk-through assessments at key project milestones
- Ensure Company standards compliance
- Ensure required project deliverables are published to ITSS Portal or OIB Center of Excellence
- Identify leverage opportunities based on experience gained from other projects
- Execute/develop simple SQL queries to assist in resolving application issues.
- Execute Data conversion programs to load legacy data into Oracle Applications.
- Log, manage and resolve Technical Assistance Requests (TAR) with Oracle Support
- Bug fix investigation and issue resolution
- Assist with pre-implementation activities such as Oracle education, Demos, and site assessments.
- Act as Asian representative for the PMO’s Business Solution Managers to ensure best practices and standards are shared and followed throughout Asia.
- Collect local business requirements and share with PMO’s Business Solutions Managers to ensure these requirements are incorporated into Company standards.
PROFESSION SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Communication skills: strong presentation/ communication / facilitation skills (oral and written).
- Business process analysis and redesign experience: strong business analysis skills; process mapping; business process redesign and implementation.
- Strong intERPersonal, communication, and client-facing skills, which demonstrates confidence and fosters a "Trusted Advisor" relationship with the end users.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Able to present solutions described above via whiteboard and PowerPoint.
- Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, support
EDUCATION
- BS with a technical background (MIS, Engineering, etc.)
- MBA is a plus
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working in assigned business process domain (either as a user or in consulting)
- Minimum 3+ years experience with Oracle Applications
- Full Lifecycle implementation experience with Oracle Applications
LANGUAGES
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin)
- Fluent in Japanese is a plus
