The core responsibilities of this role include:

- Maintain technology infrastructure, providing operational stability by following and using the tools, policies, processes and procedures available.

- Monitor trouble ticket queues for issues and respond promptly to them.

- Perform troubleshooting and investigation of complex technical issues and root cause analysis

- Identify trends or issues within the production computing environment and work with product engineers, Microsoft, and other vendors to resolve them.

- Perform change management duties, including creation, execution and validation of production changes.

- Monitor performance, health and availability of infrastructure services.

- Manage capacity of environment.

- Provide reporting and metrics

- Provide VIP support for senior executives.

- Deployment and management of security patches.

- Create, review, maintain and update documenation.

- Work with global colleagues to provide follow-the-sun coverage

- Escalate and liaise with additional internal/external groups when required, resulting in satisfactory resolution.

- Document & Publish fixes in central knowledge base.

- Active participation within and amongst teams and colleagues, providing constructive feedback when necessary.

- Identify areas for automation and scripting wherever possible.

- Responsibility for the planning and controlled execution of releases into the managed environment.

- Participate in the engineering and deployment of global products

- Input into Business Continuity Planning and Practices.

- The candidate must demonstrate strong technical qualities, preferably in a global environment.

Skills Required

- Interpersonal Skills - Communication, flexibilty, self driven, team player

- Windows Operating System (up to and including debugging)

- DNS / WINS

- Scripting (eg. Powershell, VBscript, C#, Perl)
