 | R12 RM: Publishing FSG Through Excel Gets Insufficient Privileges Error (Doc ID 553604.1) |
SymptomsTrying to view a published FSG Report in Excel format, throws up an error while trying convert the HTML format to Excel.
The error in the window shows:
ERROR:
You have insufficient privileges for the current operation. Please contact your System
Administrator.
-- Steps To Reproduce:
- Submit and view the FSG report.
- Click the "View Report Now" link.
- It can be viewed in HTML.
- Select Excel in the Output Type drop down list.
- Receive the message: "Your document is being generated. Do not close this window until Excel is ready."
- Then follows the error message.
CauseIncorrect setup of the Internet Explorer.

SolutionTo publish reports to Excel, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later is required. No other web browsers are supported.
Set browser security settings to allow a document to be created on the desktop.
- Navigate to Tools -> Internet Options and choose the Security tab
- Select Local Intranet and choose the Custom Level button.
- Set the option "Initialize and script Active X controls not marked as safe" to "Prompt"
One of the following versions of Excel is required (also when using the General Ledger - Journals Integrator):
- Microsoft Excel 97
- Microsoft Excel 2000
- Microsoft Excel 2002 (Office XP)
- Microsoft Excel 2003
- Microsoft Excel 2007
- Microsoft Excel 2010
For Web ADI to work with Excel 2002 or 2003, the users will have to:
- Open Excel
- Go to Tools -> Macro -> Security -> Trusted Sources
- Check the "Trust access to Visual Basic Project"
