MAPS API/Load AA team is responsible for testing several mission critical RealNetworks back-end services. They include user data service, content management service and e-commerce service.


GENERAL SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The software test engineer will work closely with software developers and program managers in testing middle tier web-based software and back-end functionality for RealNetworks core platform web services that relate to the PCI compliance effort. Duties include PCI-related application test planning, test case design, automation test suite development, testing tool and reusable module development, existing test harness maintenance, test execution and bug reporting. Testing environment is Linux, Java, J2EE, JUnit, Ant, Maven, SOAP（SOAP 是用于访问网络服务的协议）, SQL and Oracle.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties may include such activities as maintains department files, uses a variety of software to compose correspondence, provides recommendations on investment strategy, creates financial spreadsheets, etc.
The total time should equal 100%.

Essential Functions:

1.	Develop PCI-related JUnit-based automated test suites, reusable testing modules and Java-based testing tool.	50%
2.	Write PCI-related area and project test plans and test cases for RealNetworks core platform J2EE based application APIs and services. Execute tests. Analyze test results. Report issues. .	35%
3.	Extend the existing automation test harness to regression-test PCI-complianceaffected applications. Troubleshoot and fix test harness and test data problems.	15%

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

List the minimum and then the preferred levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities, education, and experience required for this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Minimum: Deep understanding of software development life cycle, quality assurance process, software test design strategy and software testing tools. Solid knowledge of object-oriented software. Experience in API test design and implementation with Java, C# or C++. Extensive quality assurance experience of multi-threaded, highly availability, and high performance J2EE middle tier web services. Detailed knowledge of Linux, HTTP protocol, SOAP protocol, client/server communications, relational database and SQL. Working knowledge of open source testing tools, e.g., JUnit and Ant. Experience in using version control system. Motivated and eager to acquire new skills. Able to work independently and as a team; Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred: Experience in J2EE, Tomcat/JSP container testing. Experience in Oracle database. Experience in Linux administration.
	Education, Certification, and/or Training: Minimum: BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline. Preferred: MS in Computer Science.

Experience: Minimum: 4 years of software quality assurance experience. 2 years of server based software testing experience in a multi-tier environment. 2 years experience with object-oriented API testing. Preferred: 4 years of mission-critical multi-tier environment testing experience. 2 years experience with web service API testing.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: General office environment (fast-paced, changing environment) High pressure projects requiring occasional overtime and weekend work at peak times.
