POSITION TITLE:

Contract Network Administrator
POSITION HOLDER:


REPORTS TO:

I.T. Manager


Customer RelationshipsWhoWhy

All internal team members. Including those in the remote locations of Auckland,
Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Taiwan, Ohio, Suzhou(China) and Worcester(UK)

Administer and support the Lotus Domino/Notes Mail and Database network in the region.

Server and PC helpdesk functions including support, installation, and administration of local and remote hardware, software and information systems.

Working with the team in the U.S. to develop information systems in Invacare according to applicable corporate policy and initiatives.

Secure I.S. support, material and equipment, including systems, software, hardware and consumables.


Position Contribution:

·
In accordance with (but not limited to) the goals and objectives as defined by the Information Systems Manager and the Regional Information System’s Policy:
·
Approximately 40% of time will be spent on support and administration of the Lotus Notes Mail and Database infrastructure and systems
·
Approximately 50% of time will be spent on 1st level support and administration of the PC and Notebook Infrastructure as well as NT servers and the telecommunication and data communication systems.
·
Approximately 10% of time will be spent on project initiatives.
·
Building excellent customer service relationships with all customers, both internal and external
·
To achieve continuous and cost effective improvement to the Information Systems network
·
To provide innovative and pro-active technology based solutions to the business



SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
To ensure that the network, desktop, information, and communication systems remain fully operational, and perform to the expected standard at all times.

Invacare Asia Pacific’s network and information systems include:

·
The Local Area Network (LAN)
·
The Wide Area Network (WAN)
·
Desktop software, operating systems and hardware
·
Lotus Notes.
·
The telecommunication system.
·
Any system or service, not included in this list, either existing now or in the future that is the responsibility of the Information Systems Department



§
Through a pro-active maintenance schedule the network and information systems will remain operational at all times.
§
In the event the network or information systems are unavailable for any reason, the risk or inconvenience will be kept to a minimum.
§
The local/wide area networks and PC hardware will be managed efficiently with minimal external support.
§
Effective monitoring of the network, communication and information systems will ensure that potential problems are diagnosed and eliminated.





SECURITY AND PROTECTION§
The network and information systems will be kept secure at all times.
§
All network and information systems will be protected from virus infection and the uncontrolled/unexpected loss of data or files.



§
An efficient and effective security policy will be enforced, and monitored. The security policy will protect all information systems from the threat of unauthorised access without exception
§
A successful backup of all data and files will be performed and verified daily, including those at remote sites.
§
All virus protection software will be current and updated accordingly on all network and desktop operating systems.



PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT§
Fully participate in the development of the group information system strategy.
§
Contribute to the development and upgrade of all Regional Information Systems.


§
Through knowledge and experience, assist the Information Systems Manager with the development of Invacare Information Systems.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT·
Identify potential areas for improvement; assist in preparing business cases and justification, project planning and implementation in conjunction with the Network Manager.

§
Well defined business plan and justifiable cost budgets and pay back, responsible project planning and monitoring leading to successful implementation and tangible customer benefits






MAINTENANCE AND CONTROL§
Maintenance of all network, information, and communication systems hardware and software
§
To accurately control and record the use of software and hardware.



§
Excellent performance of all hardware and software
§
Accurate records of all Invacare hardware and software.
§
Provide cost effective solutions by utilising personal hardware/software skills and expertise

CUSTOMER SERVICE
§
To provide excellence in customer service to all internal and external customers.

§
Ensure appropriate help desk support levels are developed and maintained.

§
Clear communications between customers, IT and external contractors/suppliers

§
Assistance and ongoing support in the development of a Service Level and KPI measurement system.


§
Customer compliments and no complaints.


§
Awareness of customer demands for service and balance this with resources available.

§
Clear understanding of activities and expectations between all parties.

§
The ability for I.S. to report regularly and pro-actively (at an aggregated level) on helpdesk performance by priority, business unit, department and individual user.

To adhere to and improve IS processes.

To lead the Dynamic commitment to exceeding regulatory and other market place quality requirements

Tertiary qualification in information systems.

Certified Lotus Professional (CLP)

Three years experience in Lotus Notes administration.
