ATP, Reservations and Scheduling
ATP is the acronym for Available To Promise. ATP functionality is extensively used across the e-Business Suite in various modules for determining demand/supply patterns. Depending on the availability of items, you can schedule or reserve quantities for an order line. Scheduling across orders allows you to schedule lines and maintain scheduling attributes on lines from multiple orders. You can query lines across orders, for an item, request date, schedule date, and so on to view scheduling attributes, and perform any scheduling action.
Upon completion of this lesson, you will be able to:
• Check ATP and Override ATP.
• Schedule and Reserve Sales Orders.
• Schedule Across Orders.
Checking and Overriding ATP
You can determine availability for an order line or availability of a group of lines using the Availability button within the Sales Orders Header or Lines page.
Overriding ATP makes demand visible to planning. It allows an authorized user to schedule a line even when no supply is available. This functionality is designed for exceptions; not normal scheduling. Anytime you override ATP you take the responsibility to find the supply manually.
In this topic, you will check the Available to Promise quantities and override the reserved ATP quantities.
